Food Safety Northwest is pleased to have worked with Kula Connection as a participant in our food safety clinic.The Kula Connection is a plant-based food product company in Garden City started by Michelle Russell aka...Chef Shel Leigh! Kula created the Treasure Valley's first fermented cashew cheese.
In order to gain approval by the Central District Health Department to wholesale her products, Michelle became a Preventive Controls Qualified Individual by taking the FSPCA Preventive Controls for Human Foods course from Food Safety Northwest. We also worked with her to complete a HACCP/Food Safety Plan for the cashew cheese food product.
Michelle is a very energetic food entrepreneur and she is currently bringing another unique plant-based protein product to market!
